01 — THE NEGATIVE

A latent image is the picture that's already on the film the moment the shutter clicks — you just can't see it yet. Most of these cameras were my grandfather's before they were mine, older than my mother and still going. I shoot film, mostly black and white, mostly because I like the grain too much to smooth it out.
